Placify (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you use our services (“Services”), including our app and website. What Kind of Data Do We Collect?

Data You Provide

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Register an account, including your name, email address, and profile photo.

  • Use features like marking places, importing links, place, create views, routes, notes, or custom tags.

  • Communicate with us via email, surveys, or feedback forms.


Location data

Placify provides map-based features that rely on location information. If you choose to enable location access, we may process your location using GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular networks, and device sensors to display your position and related map content. Current location data is processed in real time and is not stored or linked to your identity by Placify.


Map display and geographic data are provided by third-party map services. Placify does not guarantee the accuracy or availability of map data.


Photo and Memories Data

If you grant photo library access, Placify may read photo metadata such as creation time or geographic coordinates to organize Memories and place-based content. This processing occurs on your device. Placify does not upload or store your original photos or videos on our servers.


Imported Links and Reference Content

Placify allows you to import external links to create place references or collections. When you use these features, Placify may temporarily access publicly available webpage information such as titles, descriptions, or media previews to extract place-related metadata.


Placify does not bypass paywalls, logins, or private content. We do not host, control, or modify third-party content referenced by imported links. Only derived metadata necessary for organizing your content inside the app is stored.


You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and reference external content. Placify does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, availability, or safety of third-party content.


AI and Automated Processing

Placify uses automated processing technologies to extract, summarize, or organize content such as place information, descriptions, or routes. Generated results may be incomplete or inaccurate and are provided for informational features only. These automated processes are not used for advertising profiling or identity-based decision making.


Transaction Data

If you purchase paid features, we retain your purchase and subscription history. However, we will not be processing your payment data, it will be collected and processed via App Store.


Automatically collected information

When you interact with our app or website, we automatically collect:

  • Device Information: Type of device, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

  • Usage Data: Actions you take within the app and duration of use.

  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, and activity logs.

How Do We Use Your Data?

We may use your data to:

  • Operate and improve our Services, including troubleshooting and technical support.

  • Personalize your experience based on your preferences and interactions.

  • Send important communications, such as account updates, security alerts, or promotional messages

  • Comply with legal obligations or enforce our Terms of Service.

  • Location and photo metadata are processed only to provide place-based features and Memories inside the app.

Third-Party Services

Placify uses third-party services to provide core functionality, including Apple Maps for map data, Apple CloudKit for data storage, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for stability monitoring, and AppsFlyer for purchase attribution. Placify does not control third-party service availability or accuracy and is not responsible for errors, interruptions, or data loss caused by these external services.

Where is Your Data Stored?

Placify does not store user-generated data such as places and photos on our servers.

We use Apple CloudKit to store your data and enable synchronization across your Apple devices. Your content is stored in your private iCloud database and encrypted with account-based keys. Placify does not have access to your iCloud account data or Apple ID identity.

Cloud synchronization depends on Apple iCloud services. Placify is not responsible for data loss, delays, or failures caused by iCloud or Apple service interruptions.

Do We Share The Data We Collect with Third Parties?

We do not sell or rent your personal information. However, we may share your data with:

  • Service Providers: To help us develop, improve, maintain, operate our Services, such as hosting, analytics, storage, testing tools or email delivery.

  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, sale, or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

We only share and disclose your information with the following categories of third parties. If we have processed your data based on your consent and you wish to revoke your consent, please contact us using the contact details provided in the section below.

We use Firebase Analytics to collect usage data that is not linked to your identity to help us improve our service.

  • We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash data that is not linked to your identity to help us improve our service.

How Do We Protect Your Data?

Placify relies primarily on Apple’s iCloud security infrastructure to protect stored content. While reasonable measures are taken to safeguard data, no internet or cloud transmission method is completely secure.

Transmitting personal information to and from our Services is done at your own discretion and risk. To ensure maximum security, please access our Services only within a trusted and secure environment.

All payments are handled by Apple and are not stored or processed on our servers.

How Long Do We Keep Your Data?

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services or comply with legal requirements. You can request account deletion, and we will remove your data from active systems. However, some data may be retained for legal or troubleshooting purposes.

Managing Your Privacy

You have control over your personal information, including:

  • Access and Correction: View or edit your profile information within the app.

  • Account Deletion: Request account deletion by contacting support@placify.app.

  • Location Settings: Manage location sharing via your device settings.

  • Data Deletion: you can delete your data (Photos, Videos, Places, Routes) easily within the app.

Children’s Privacy

Placify is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, or the "Shine The Light" law, allows California residents to request, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing and their names and addresses. To make a request, please submit it in writing using the contact information below.

If you are under 18, reside in California, and have a registered account with the App, you can request removal of unwanted data you publicly posted. To do so, contact us with your account email and confirm your California residency. We’ll ensure the data isn’t publicly displayed, but it may not be fully removed from all systems.

Information for European Union Users

By using our services and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

How Does We Handle Do Not Track?

Placify does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are respected where applicable.

Future Changes
